Node Labs

The Node Grow App (or Node App for short) is available as a web API at nodegrowapp.com, or as an app on Android and iOS. The Node Grow App’s dashboard is called “Node Labs“.

The Node App is optimized to work seamlessly with the Node Pi to allow growers to remotely monitor and control their grow spaces. The app is also packed with useful features that allow growers to analyze their grows, calculate costs/profits/taxes/etc., receive notifications, and much more. Growers can also use the Node App to connect with other growers around the world, share techniques and knowledge, or just chat, as well as quickly access a variety of crowd-sourced resources, such strain guides, grow guides, photo galleries and installation guides.

Controller

Growers can control their grow environment using a relay enabled power outlet that can be used remotely to control a wide variety of devices. In short, whatever can be plugged in to a standard power outlet (most types used globally are available). Growers can access the controller from anywhere in the world using the webAPI, and/or Android and iOS mobile apps.

Social

This section contains the social media features for Growers. There are 6 main pages in this section that allow the Grower to set up a personal profile, make friends with other Growers, share/post their grow room achievements and data, chat/send messages with other Growers (all encrypted), create photo galleries, take notes, and create task lists. All of these aspects of the Growers social media profile can be shared publicly, limited to just friends or be kept private.

Node Profile

Here growers can publish biographical information, showcase their best grows, identify favorite methods, strains, etc., as well as provide info their current grow (strains, stage, watering schedule, etc.) and other activities, such as breeding techniques, events attended, trade shows, etc.

Node Chat

Node Chat allows Growers to chat in real-time with one another either in a public lobby or in a private chat room. Node Chat is fully encrypted and can be disabled/enabled in the settings menu.

Node Mail

An internal mail service where Node Growers can send email messages to one another. Node Mail coms with 1 GB of free storage and supports attachments. Node Mail is also fully encrypted end-to-end. Security features can be adjusted in the settings.

Node Contacts

Node Contacts lists all of your Grow Friends in Node and their personal information. Features include add, edit, delete contacts, profile pics, quick access to messaging/chat, group assignment, etc.

Grow Friends

Search for other Growers and send them friend requests. This page has three sub-sections: “All Growers”: a list of all Node Growers who set their accounts to “public”; “Online”: a list of Node Growers currently online (who have public accounts); “Pending Friends”: Grower Friends who still need to accept a friend request

Node Gallery

Create photo galleries to document your progress and achievements. Individual galleries and/or photos can be easily shared with other Growers. They can also be made public, limited to friends only, or kept private.

Notebook

A tool that allows the Grower to manually keep notes about their activities, or set it up to automatically include notes taken from Node Labs; for example, feeding/watering schedule, current growth stage, etc. Notes can also be made public, kept private or limited to friends only.

Tasks

A simple task board tool that allows the Grower to set up tasks, or to-do lists, for themselves. This is also fully shareable and can also be used to set up reminders, notifications and alerts.

Guides

This section will feature a series of guides that are entirely crowdsourced. This means that all the data collected in the guides will be submitted, edited, fact-checked, reviewed, corrected and processed by the Node community of Growers. Using the Cannabis Strain Guide as an
example, the process will work as follows:

  1. A Grower submits information about a particular strain (i.. THC %, CBD %, flowering time, etc.) to our database;
  2. This information is then sent to a voluntary review system wherein every Grower can choose to participate by reviewing a maximum of 5 entries a day. The reviewers will be able to edit the information for grammar, spelling, etc., fact-check the information and offer notes on the data’s accuracy, leave comments, rate the accuracy of the data using a predefined scale and provide sources for additional or contradictory information.
  3. This same data must undergo a set number of minimum reviews, upon which the reviewers’ inputs will be collected and aggregated, and will be submitted for the next stage of review called the “Wiki Test”.
  4. The “Wiki Test” is the last step before information can be added permanently to a guide. Here the original submission (in this case information about a particular cannabis strain) and all of the reviews collected in the previous step will b published in a closed wiki (i.e. only available to the Node community of Growers) where anyone can edit, re-dit and comment on the entry as well as vote on whether or not it is accurate enough to b submitted to the Strain Guide. If the entry dos not receive enough “yes” votes in a pre-determined amount of time, then the entry will be automatically deleted by the system. If the “yes” votes reach a pre-defined threshold, the entry will then be automatically added to the Strain Guide.

This section is comprised of 6 main pages:

Strain Guide

A crowd-sourced, Grower generated collection of all known cannabis strains. Includes detailed information about each plant specifically designed for Growers and NOT for cannabis users (as is the case for most Strain Guides on the market today). Information will include, but is not limited to:

  • THC%, CBD%, etc.
  • Strain & Lineage
  • Average Yield
  • Outdoor vs. Indoor
  • Medical Uses
  • Breeder Information
  • Flowering Time
  • Average Height
  • Basic Characteristics
  • Cup Winners

Bud Porn

This tool / web app will function similar to a dating app, but for pictures of cannabis. Growers will be able to submit photos and other Growers can view the photos and swipe left or right to either like or dislike a photo. Photos that get a certain amount of likes will be automatically used in other guides (such as the Strain Guide).

Grow Guide

A crowd-sourced series of how-to guides, DIY manuals, tips & tricks, and other subjects related to growing cannabis. Topics include: hydroponic techniques, cloning, setting up a grow room, ventilation, feeding, dealing with pests, etc.

Installation Guides

A crowd-sourced collection of manuals to the installation and usage of specialized grow equipment, such as exhaust systems, CO2 burners/tanks, etc. Full-screen view available, as well as fully downloadable and printable.

Feeding Charts

Downloadable and printable feeding charts/ schedules for all major cannabis nutrition companies. Can be viewed in fullscreen. Information contained in these feeding charts is also used to inform and auto-fill data in the api, such as calendar, grow rooms page, etc.

Grow Shop Locator

A map that will feature the locations of grow shops, clone shops, dispensaries, coffeeshops and other relevant cannabis and cannabis-related retailers. Sponsored locations, and advertising will be displayed here to attract additional revenue. The maps can search any location anonymously without exposing the location of the Grower searching for a service.
